The Finance Department is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the City and provides administrative support to City departments through various financial services; information technology services; utility billing and collections; accounts payable processing; and payroll processing.
The Finance Department consists of two divisions: Accounting and Utility Services (see above link). Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Preparation of Annual budget, Preparation of Annual Audited Financial Statements, Preparation of Monthly and other Financial Reports as requested, Proper recording of transactions in acodance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Creation and enforcement of Financial Policies and Procedures, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Debt Management, Cash Management, Utility Billing and Collection and Information Technology Management.
