Lancaster Police Department

 The Lancaster Police Department is committed to enhancing the quality of life in our city by creating partnerships with the community to protect and preserve life and property, to prevent crime and to resolve community problems. The department offers various services to address specific problems and to increase citizen awareness and participation in crime prevention. These services include victim’s assistance, school resource officers, bicycle patrol, bicycle registration, moped licensing, Crime Watch programs, security surveys, special response teams, drug enforcement, investigations and more.

Chief of Police – Don Roper

The Patrol Division responds to all calls for police service in Lancaster city limits, enforcing traffic laws and investigating collisions, maintaining order, serving warrants and providing primary response.

The Special Operations Unit is responsible for investigating crimes in order to make arrests and bring cases to court.

The Support Services Division supports the operations of the entire department by providing administrative, clerical and record keeping assistance.
