The Human Resources Department is responsible for recruiting, screening, and hiring employees. Responsibilities also include performance evaluation, benefits management, employee relations, and employment law compliance.

Human Resources researches, plans, and makes recommendations on future needs relating to benefits administration, policy development, pay and classification, performance evaluation, and job skills. Human Resources also maintains current data on all City employees and coordinates an employee assistance program, awards programs, and health and wellness programs.
