State 1 Voluntary Drought Notification

Due to the Catawba Wateree Water Management Group moving the current drought stage to Stage 1 Voluntary, this notice shall serve as notice of this drought stage to you as a City of Lancaster utility customer. An upcoming Press Release from the Lancaster County Water and Sewer District will soon follow with this information and a notice will be included on our customer’s utility bills this month.

This is a voluntary setting with our customers at this time. We are asking our customers to refrain from irrigating at this time, but if they must do so we are asking for them to limit irrigation to 2 days per week with a total of 1 inch of water being used including any rainfall for the week and to complete this irrigation during early morning or evening hours to minimize evaporation loss. We are also asking customers to not wash vehicles at their home. If they choose to wash, we are suggesting they use one of the commercial washes which may have a re-use system. Again, this is a voluntary stage at this time. If you have any questions regarding this notice, please contact our Utility Billing Department at 803-283-9991.  Thanks.
