The City of Lancaster Department of Solid Waste regrets to inform its residents that the Leaf Collection Season, which was scheduled to be provided free of charge to city residents, has been temporarily postponed until further notice. This unforeseen delay is due to manufacturing issues that have impacted the city’s leaf collection equipment.

The City has always been committed to ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment for its residents, especially during the Fall season when leaves accumulate. The Department of Solid Waste is actively working to resolve the manufacturing issues and return the leaf collection service to normal operation as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to make use of alternative methods for leaf disposal, such as bagging leaves and placing them on the curb for knuckle boom collection or participating in local composting programs.

The City remains committed to providing a high level of service to its residents, and we appreciate your understanding during this temporary delay. City staff will keep our residents informed as the situation progresses, and we look forward to the swift resolution of these issues. We understand the inconvenience this may cause to our residents and sincerely apologize for any disruption to their fall cleanup plans.
